We, here at OWRgaming, strive to bring you the best action and fun to be had at a privately hosted LAN party! And when we are finished, the only thing left behind is the strong aftertaste nagging at your brain and asking “Man! When can I get some more of that!?” Well, get ready fans ’cause we’re pouring the powder and packing the rounds. Saturday February 4th 2012 is just around the corner and we’ll be rolling through the streets like an Abrams tank; so, do what you gotta do for Valentine’s Day on the 14th so you can do what you gotta do for your country on the 4th. TAKE  ONE FOR THE TEAM! AND LET ‘ER KNOW WHO’S BOSS!

The usual rules apply: bring your equipment, games, snacks, booze, coolers, energy drinks, comfortable portable chair, 10ft network cable (if you have one,just in case), some cash for food, your ‘A-game’ smack talk, and a good attitude (or at least a good pair of earplugs so you don’t have to listen WHILE you’re gettin owned)

The standard drill people…..Bring your system, power cord, cables, connection ADAPTERS, screen (less than 32″), headphones/speakers, controllers, batteries/chargers. AND THE GAMES!!!

If you do not have a portable enough screen you can always go to a rent-a-center and get one for the day.

The same goes for copies of the games. Hit up gamefly or Blockbuster or Redbox.

It looks like we will have about a THOUSAND DOLLARS in prizes to give away! And, we will run a 100 square pool for a 4 hr match as well…so bring some cash and maybe go home with up to $200.

Bring your energy drinks and snacks; however, there are several vending machines in the game area for drinks, snacks, sandwiches, ice cream and a Red Bull machine!

We will be taking breaks for lunch and dinner so bring cash for one of the many nearby restaurants.

The college is located at 1551 S. Douglas Rd in Anaheim,Ca 92806.

From San Diego take the I-5 North all the way to Katella Ave and exit toward the Honda Center (Westwood is right next to the Honda Center)

From local areas take the 91 to the 57S and exit Katella Ave and make a left.

Enter the parking that is AFTER the college building (parking before the college may require a fee or a college decal as it shares the lot with the Honda Center)

What can I say about this game? I Love It! Its like Team Fortress 2 meets your favorite tower defense game. Robots, Explosions, and Ninja Assasins makes for some awesome arena gameplay. I have not messed with the single player too much. I played through the tutorial so I could unlock a sweet Avatar head.  I also played through the exhibition mode and season mode to sharpen up my skills with a few of the six classes you can choose from. There is also a Co-Op mode that you and three other players over Xbox Live can tackle including an infinite mode that throws robot after robot at you until your money ball is destroyed.

The part I like the best is the crossfire 6 v 6 versus mode. The objective is to destroy the opposite teams money ball, but that is no easy task. Your robots have to drop the defenses so you can go in and get it. Around the Money Ball, are turret stations that players can upgrade by using cash that they accumulate from taking down another player or destroying CPU controlled robots that the teams are sending out to break the defenses. Each class sends out a certain type of robot that has a specific duty it performs. On top of that you also have to take out the players from the opposite team. With all this going on you have a lot of different strategies you can use to succeed. Some send out lots of robots early to overwhelm while others use sheer skill to run in and pwn the other team before they have a chance to get a foot hold. All and all it balances well and really does rely on teamwork from the whole team.

This game is hilarious. Those of you out there that like dungeon crawlers like Diablo or Torchlight will love this. The voice work is great and the main character is awesome. I have not played a lot but what I have played is really fun and funny. There is not much else I can say about this. I will leave the laughs to those of you that are going to give it a shot.

I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who showed up too the lan party and a big thanks to Dre for giving us a place to nerd out for the day. Good Food, Good Games, and Good Friends always makes for a great time. I am still gonna headshot each and every one of you online. And don’t forget to never leave your house without these………..

Please treat every OWR member with respect. We don’t want a bunch of members fighting or at each others throats. All and all we are just a gamer clan, we are here to have fun. Friendly competition is fun but don’t let it get out of control. Lets all just have fun.

Make sure to not do anything to bring negative attention to the OWR name. We are trying to make this larger and more beneficial for its members. If we start getting negative attention it may be harder for us to try and convince companies and devs to sponsor and support us.

If you are an OWR member you must register on the website so we can get a set roster for invites to LAN Parties and games
Please refrain from over the top trash talk, especially if it is not necessary (sometimes it is). If you or the group is being attacked online then its on, but do not initiate it. We have always been a laid back group and we don’t want to make anyone in our group uncomfortable.

If you are a member in California than you must attend at least one LAN party a year. We don’t want a bunch of flakey members just taking up space on our roster.

In regards to LAN Parties

You must bring your own equipment to LAN Parties. We are getting bigger and we don’t have the same amount of loaner equipment we have had in the past. Use the website or Xbox Live to ask around if you are short something, we may be able to find it before the LAN Party.

Please come prepared with the games and add-ons specified for the party as well as money for food. We usually do a takeout order or a grocery run a few days before to prepare. Drinks and snacks are your responsability.

LAN Parties are invite only! If you want to bring someone please let us know and we will get permission from the host. Sometimes we are uncomfortable with having strangers in our homes.
